Pittsburgh Paranormal Society to investigate the Enchanted Abbey!

Leechburg Advance Oct 20, 2009

The Old Parsonage Bed and Breakfast held and Open House on Sunday Oct 4. The Bed and breakfast is aptly named the Old Parsonage because it was formerly the parsonage for the Holy Innocents Episcopal Church that is now located on Third Street.

The former church is due to re-open next year as the Enchanted Abbey Wedding Chapel. Weddings will be conducted there by Pastor John Truett.

The rooms in the bed and breakfast are done in many styles including a bedroom done in an Egyptian motif. There is a downstairs sitting room complete with fireplace and grandfather clock. After some brief remark by Pastor Truett, Nancy Nawrocki, president of the Leechburg Historical Society, and Leechburg Mayor Chuck Pascal, Pastor Truett cut the ribbon with a huge pair of scissors. Leechburg has long needed a place for people to stay who are coming to town to visit.

Dear John,

When Bauer Family Funeral Homes introduced our new community outreach program, “Bauer’s Steps Ahead” our goal was to have a different venue each month that would make an enjoyable planned outing for the group. As the Community Relations Manager of Bauer Family Funeral Homes

Thank you for the enchanting experience; for the delicious homemade lunch made from your family recipes; for sharing the interesting history about the buildings and its occupants that you obviously carefully researched and documented; and for letting us experience the décor of the Old Parsonage Bed & Breakfast and Enchanted Abbey during our tour. Thank you for making our event successful. This permitted our group to share an enjoyable day with fellowship of friends and laughter while having the opportunity to visit a place where we have never been before.

We want to include best wishes and continued success in completing such a huge remodeling project. We hope you will see your dreams come true.

Sincerely,

Sandy Mikita
